FRESH MONKEY FICTION IS LAUNCHING A NEW CROWD FUNDING CAMPAIGN TO CONTINUE IT’S AMAZING HEROES RETROVERSE LINE OF RETRO STYLED COMIC BOOK ACTION FIGURES.

New characters for this wave include Mr. Monster, E-Man, Stray, Badger and The Black Pirate, plus we are re-releasing our Nexus figure.
Each figure has 5 points of articulation and comes with collector friendly packaging.

If you are new to Amazing Heroes you can read more about our line here

We've previously used Kickstarter to fund our Amazing Heroes line but we are going to try something new this time.  We are not going the Kickstarter route, but instead are doing our own version of a crowd funding campaign we've called "FRESH MONKEY FUND IT". This new approach will allow us to be more flexible with our rewards and leverage a pre-order system via Backerkit to manage our orders.

If we can achieve our funding goal of by the beginning of October 2020 we'll be able to fund the costs for the following figures and deliver them to you in early 2021.

Please agree to the terms and conditions before you place your pre-order.

For over ten thousand years, the Stearns have been Mr. Monsters, transferring the title from father to son. The Mr. Monster lineage is guarded by the Fluorescent Five, who act as spiritual teachers and provide the Mr. Monsters with their predecessors' knowledge. This knowledge enables them to quickly adapt to their role and learn from their predecessors' mistakes.

The current Mr. Monster, Dr. Strongfort Stearn, is the son of World War II Mr. Monster Jim Stearne and a female vampire named Lillith Weiss, daughter of Dracula.

Created circa 1947 by Fred Kelly, the character was influenced by Kelly's earlier creation, also called Doc Stearne.

Mr. Monster was rediscovered in 1971 by Michael T. Gilbert when he bumped into a coverless comic with a Mr. Monster lead story in it.  Loving the character, Gilbert decided to revive the character if ever given the chance.

The Badger, otherwise known as Norbert Sykes, is a Vietnam war veteran and vigilante with multiple personalities. The one most dominant is the Badger, but the others include Max Swell, nine-year-old Emily, and Pierre. The persona of the Badger is Norbert's coping mechanism for his PTSD.

Norbert works as a bodyguard for Hamilton "Ham" Thorndyke, a 5th century druid who was put into a coma by the rest of the wizarding community and woke up in the 20th century. Also employed by Ham is Daisy Fields, a clinical psychologist, who acts as his secretary when not providing therapy for Norbert.

The Badger was created by Mike Baron, originally published by Capital Comics in 1983 and then moving to First Comics with issue #6

E-Man is a sentient packet of energy thrown off by a nova. Traveling the galaxy he learned about life, how to duplicate the appearance of life, and about good and evil.

Reaching Earth, he met exotic dancer/grad student Katrinka Colchnzski, also known as Nova Kane, and formed himself into a superhero he called E-Man, with a civilian identity he dubbed "Alec Tronn."

E-Man's powers included firing energy blasts from his hands, changing his appearance, and transforming part or all of his body into anything he could envision (e.g., turning his feet into jet engines so he could fly).

E-Man was created by Joe Staton and  Nicola Cuti for Charlton Comics. His emblem was the famous mass-energy equivalence formula "E=MC2" postulated by Albert Einstein.

Rodney Weller is the latest hero in the legacy of the Doberman, even if he doesn't actually wear his father and grandfather’s mantle. When he was ten years old, his father, aka the Doberman, hit the streets with a sidekick; the Rottweiler. After many adventures that would take the young boy across the globe, a disagreement over a petty robbery caused a huge rift between father and son, culminating in Rodney quitting and running away. When his father was murdered five years later, Rodney returned to crime fighting under the new name, Stray.

Stray was created by Vito Delsante and Sean Izaakse and has been published by Action Lab Entertainment. In fact, 2020 is the fifth anniversary of the very first issue!"

When Don Angelo di Martini was a young boy, he witnessed his father, a captain in the Navy, murder an entire village of innocents.

Realizing that his father was a scoundrel and a thief, Angelo ran away from home and set out to learn the ways of the pirate in order to exact revenge on his father in the name of his hapless victims. When he was finally of age, Angelo set out on the sea to find his father and bring him to justice as The Black Pirate.

The Black Pirate, or Il Pirato Nero, was created by Dominic Doltia for the Italian fumetto series,

Avventure in Alto Mare (“Adventure on the High Seas”), and appeared in only two issues; the magazine was cancelled in 1939 when Benito Mussolini’s Fascist Party took power. It is unrelated to the movie, Toto Contro Il Pirato Nero (1964)

Horatio Valdemar Hellpop, received his Nexus powers from an alien entity called the Merk. As payment, the Merk required Nexus to seek out and kill a certain quantity of human mass murderers per "cycle". When the Merk selected a target, Nexus would receive strong headaches and maddeningly anguishing dreams (whose extremely intense episodes caused physical injuries to Hellpop's body that emulated the dream violence) of his target's victims until he did his duty.

Horatio was reluctant to act as the Merk's tool, but continued seeking out mass murderers to maintain his power and his sanity so that he could defend his homeworld, a lunar refuge of Ylum.

Nexus was created by writer Mike Baron and artist Steve Rude in 1981.
The Nexus action figure was originally offered in Wave 2 of Amazing Heroes. Thanks to the cooperation of Mike Baron and Steve Rude we are able to offer Nexus again during this campaign.
